Jason Sydejko
MeteorologistJason Sydejko is a 5-time Emmy-nominated Meteorologist for KCCI 8 News. He joined KCCI Storm Team 8 in January 2015.
Before KCCI, Jason worked as the Chief Meteorologist at KQDS FOX 21 in Duluth MN for 3 and 1/2 years, and Weekend Meteorologist at WeatherVision based out of Jackson, MS.
He has a strong love for forecasting and broadcasting, but one of his favorite things to do is teach the 'why' and the 'how' rather than just deliver a forecast. Coming from Duluth gave him the opportunity to experience many weather extremes from nearly 3 feet of snow from one storm, massive floods, tornadoes, waterspouts, temperatures of -50ºF and colder, and even extreme heat (yes, believe it or not we got that in Duluth occasionally). Each city has its own set of foreasting challenges, and Jason is extremely excited to tackle that head on to deliver you a forecast you can trust.
In his spare time Jason likes to run, draw, and get outdoors.
Jason graduated from Mississippi State in 2011 with a M.S. in Geosciences with an emphasis on broadcast meteorology, and from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2006 with degrees in Environmental Studies and Geography, and a minor in Applied Mathematics. He also holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval.
