Nicole Tam is a reporter for KCCI 8 News. She comes to the Midwest from Honolulu, HI, with experience covering stories related to medicine/healthcare, education, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic. While covering news in Hawaii was fun, she is excited to connect with the people of Iowa and experience the four seasons.

During her time in the Aloha state, she graduated with two bachelor's degrees in journalism and Chinese from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. (Go 'Bows!) She is originally from Hong Kong and is fluent in Cantonese and speaks some Mandarin. Because of her language ability, she was able to uncover an industry, known as "maternity tourism", that was hidden in paradise. Women from overseas like China, would visit the United States for about two months before birth, so their children become U.S. citizens when they're born. Her coverage won a Hawaii Society of Professional Journalists award.

When Nicole is not at work, she enjoys exploring new restaurants with family and friends.
