Alyssa Gomez is a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist for KCCI 8 News joining us from Chicago. Alyssa is excited to still be in the Midwest, delivering news to the Iowa community with Iowa’s News Leader, KCCI.

Alyssa recently graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. At DePaul she anchored and reported for its student newscast, Good Day DePaul, where she covered everything from the overturning of Roe V. Wade to crime on campus and Blue Demon basketball, of course.

While in the Windy City, she also spent a year interning with ABC 7 Chicago in their programming/promotions departments.

Alyssa is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

When she isn’t at KCCI, Alyssa loves dancing, going to concerts and exploring new places to eat in Des Moines.
