'I'm nervous': KCCI's Eric Hanson arm wrestles a viewer at Iowa State Fair
KCCI anchor Eric Hanson got a taste Friday night of what keeps Lee Ann Krough coming back to the Iowa State Fair.
"The fair is all about competitions," Hanson said during the 5 p.m. newscast from the MidAmerican Energy Stage, before he introduced Krough and her Monster Arm Wrestling machine.
Krough said she's been going to the fair for 43 years and the Monster, a machine with elbow rests and handles so competitors don't actually lock hands, has been used for the arm wrestling competition for 45 years.
"I live all year ... for this," she said of the Monster Arm Wrestling contest.
"You sit down at the machine," Krough said. "Hands on the pegs, elbows in the pads, seats in the seats. Three, two, one — wrestle."
And that's exactly what Hanson did with a viewer from the crowd.
Watch the video above to see how Hanson's match went.
Weigh-ins for the Monster Arm Wrestling contest are 10 a.m.-noon on Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Cattle Barn, with action starting at 1 p.m.
