As Republican presidential candidates flood the Iowa state fairgrounds, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz traveled to the fair Thursday to stump for President Joe Biden's re-election campaign. Biden does not plan to attend the fair this year. It's the first Iowa State Fair since the Democratic National Committee voted to strip Iowa of its first-in-the-nation caucus status. However, Walz argues Democrats are focused on flipping Iowa blue and winning Midwestern states in the general election. "The way to the White House for Democrats is through the upper Midwest. It's Minnesota. It's Wisconsin. It's Michigan. It's Pennsylvania. And it has always been Iowa until very recently. We're focusing on it. I want Iowa to switch," Walz said. "President Trump had his chance and he blew those things. He hurt agriculture with his stupid trade wars. He underfunded with ethanol which is an important thing that we care about in the Midwest," Walz said. " telling folks...vote on what improves the quality of life for your family and that's clearly with President Biden."
