People in Marshall County are coming together in the wake of a tragedy. A family is now grieving after the sudden death of a husband, father, and good friend: Jacob Weuve. A release from State Center Police Department sent out on Tuesday shared that utilities personnel were working in State Center when Weuve, of State Center, suffered an electric shock. Police say Weuve had worked for State Center Electrical Utilities for 13 years."He's a cool dad. He's a cool grandpa," said Heather Niedermann, who runs T2K Nutrition and is a family friend of the Weuve family. "He is the person that everybody wanted to be around." Niedermann is also close with Weuve's wife, Natalie. "She is a huge customer of ours. She visits frequently and now she tragically lost her husband," Niedermann said. "They're a very loving family and they're a family that will go out of their way for anybody." Niedermann says now the community and can return the favor. At her business in Marshalltown, Niedermann has set up a jar for the family. Sitting by the jar is a collage of family pictures. "Many people have come in and they just simply are getting their shake and their tea and they're simply just putting money into the jar," Niedermann said. T2K Nutrition in Marshalltown is open 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday-Friday. It's open Saturdays 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and closed Sundays. Niedermann says since posting on Facebook about the fundraiser, people who live outside of Marshalltown have asked how they could help. It's why she's shared her Venmo with people. Fundraisers are common at T2K Nutrition, but this one is personal because the Weuves are families friends. Prior to starting this fundraiser, she made sure to ask Natalie Weuve if it was OK to set something up. "She's like even if it reaches one person and it's $5, it's $5 that can go towards her kids or food on their table to help through this time," Niedermann said. Anyone looking to help the family can do so by going to the T2K Facebook page. Niedermann says, eventually, they plan on having a weekend fundraiser for the family. All updates about that will also be found on the Facebook page.
