Rossen Reports: College students can save big with these discounts
College students are packing up and getting ready for the school year to begin. We have the ultimate list of college student discounts you'll want to cash in on:
Target
You can get a one-time 20% discount on your entire shopping trip now through Aug. 26. All you need is your student ID and be signed up for its free Target Circle Rewards program.
Amazon
Cash in on a discounted version called Prime Student.
After a six-month free trial, the price is $7.49 per month, which is about half off the regular price. You get all the normal Prime perks, plus others like free GrubHub food delivery for a year and 10% off travel through the travel company StudentUniverse.
Hulu
The streaming service gives college students 75% off. You can get the streaming service, with ads, for $2 a month.
YouTube Premium
There's a student plan that includes ad-free videos and music for about $7 a month after the first month's free trial. This discount is for four years, but each year, you have to verify your student eligibility.
Best Buy
The website has a "Back to School Student Hub." Discounts vary, but the website has a cool feature: You can answer a few questions about what kind of computer you're looking for and what your price range is. It will then help narrow down which one would be best for you.
HP
You can get up 40% off. All you have to do is sign up for its free Education Store Program online.
Apple
If you buy a Mac or iPad, you can get 20% off the AppleCare protection plan and a gift card of up to $150.
Nike
College and high school students get a 10% promo code. You do have to verify that you're a student with your student ID.
Nike says each promo code can only be used once, but you can receive a new code every 30 days. When you're ready to shop again, just re-verify your status to receive a new promo code.
