THEY DON’T LOOK LIKE THE SEVENTH BEST TEAM OUT THERE. HERE’S CASEY CERES JEFF DUBROF FROM FORT DODGE. WE HAD AN INSTANT CLASSIC BETWEEN FORT DODGE AND WINTERSET DODGERS DOWN FOUR THREE IN THE SEVENTH. THEY LAY DOWN A SACRIFICE BUNT, TRYING TO GET THE RUNNER TO THIRD AND WINTERSET THROWS OVER. BUT THE BALL GOES SAILING. THAT ALLOWS HOPE ALSTOTT TO SCORE. WE ARE TIED AT FOUR AND WOULD HEAD TO EXTRAS TO THE 10TH STILL TIED AT FOUR. AND FINALLY THAT TIE IS BROKEN. WINNER SETS NEALA APPLEGATE A SAC FLY SCORES. MCKENNA OLSON. IT’S FIVE FOUR. THE HUSKIES WOULD ADD INSURANCE A LINE DRIVE TO THE WALL BY MOLLY BREDING ADDS ANOTHER WINNER SAID, WHO CAME INTO THIS TOURNAMENT AS THE SEVEN SEED WINS IT SIX FOUR. THEY ARE ONE WIN AWAY FROM A STATE TITLE. IT DOESN’T FEEL REAL. IT REALLY DOESN’T LIKE COMING IN AS A TEN SEED GOING INTO THE REGIONALS AND THEN THE SEVEN SEED. NOW IT’S JUST IT DOES NOT FEEL REAL. WINTERSET WOULD PLAY THE WINNER OF NORWALK AND NORTH SCOTT WARRIORS TAKE A42 LEAD EARLY AFTER AN RBI GROUNDOUT BY MADDIE GULLION. THEY WIN 6 TO $0.04. O’NEILL WAS TAKING ON SOUTHEAST POLK IN THE FIVE AA SEMIFINAL AND IT WAS ALL JAGS, THE NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE STATE, UP 3 TO 1. FRESHMAN JORDAN KENNEDY BY BY A SOLO SHOT MAKES IT 4 TO 1 AND THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO ROLL. THEY’RE GOING TO ADD ON THANKS TO ADDIE STAR, A FROZEN ROPE SCORES TO TWO JAGS, CRUISE 11 TO 1. THEY’RE JUST ONE WIN AWAY. WE’RE LED BY THE SIX SENIORS. THEY CAME IN MY VERY FIRST YEAR AND STARTED THE PROGRAM BACK UP TO FORT DODGE AND WE BELIEVE IN THOSE SIX SENIORS ALONG WITH EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE DUGOUT AND EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE PROGRAM. THURSDAY HERE AT FORT DODGE DELIVERED ON THE ACTION. IT ALWAYS DOES. ANKENY, CENTENNIAL AND WINTERSET. NOW WE’LL TRY TO TAKE HOME A STATE TITLE ON THURSDAY NIGHT REPORTING FROM FORT DODGE, JEFF DUBROF KCCI, IOWA SPORTS LEADER. THANKS, JEFF. AND MORE FROM FORT DODGE TO A SEMIS VAN METER UP TO BAT TIED AT THREE WITH CENTRAL SPRINGS. WATCH THIS VAN METER BUNTS WITH THE BASES LOADED CENTRAL SPRINGS THROWS IT TO FIRST, BUT NO ONE IS THERE. VAN METERS COACH ISN’T GOING TO CATCH IT. TWO RUNS SCORE FOR VAN METER. THE BULLDOGS GO UP 10 TO 3 IN THIS ONE. EVENTUALLY THEY WOULD HOLD ON TO WIN TEN NINE. THEY NEEDED ALL THOSE RUNS.
