'Freedom to Flourish': Gov. Reynolds reveals new state logo
CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN CODY’S NAME. THE STATE OF IOWA HAS A NEW IDENTITY TONIGHT. SO TO SPEAK. THIS IS A LIVE LOOK AT OUR HISTORIC STATE HOUSE, WHICH, OF COURSE, REMAINS THE SAME AS IT’S ALWAYS BEEN. BUT KCCI IS OPHELIA JACOBSON IS THERE LIVE TONIGHT, WHERE THE GOVERNOR REVEALED A NEW LOGO EARLIER TODAY. OPHELIA. STACY, THE NEW LOGO IS ALREADY UP ON STATE WEBSITES. GOVERNOR REYNOLDS SAYS IOWA’S NATIONAL PROFILE IS ON THE RISE. THE STATE SAYS THEY’VE BEEN WORKING ON A NATIONAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN FOR YEARS TO TRY AND ATTRACT MORE VISITORS TO THE STATE. NOW, REYNOLDS SAID ANOTHER MAIN REASON FOR CREATING THE NEW BRAND WAS THAT THERE WAS NO UNIFYING STATE BRAND THAT TIED ALL DEPARTMENTS TOGETHER. SOON, STATE DEPARTMENTS WILL ADOPT THIS NEW LOGO AS THEIR PRIMARY BRAND. REYNOLDS SAYS SHE HOPES IT WILL SHOW THAT EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME TEAM. YOU’LL ALSO BE ABLE TO SEE THE NEW LOGO ON NEW WELCOME SIGNS IN THE STATE. THERE ARE 68 OF THOSE SIGNS ON INTERSTATES 80 AND 35. REYNOLDS SAYS. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY’VE BEEN WANTING TO DO SINCE 2020. BUT SHE SAYS NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO ROLL OUT THE NEW BRAND ALONGSIDE THE GOVERNMENT RESTRUCTURING PLAN DOON. THIS IS AN EXCITING TIME FOR OUR STATE, AND AS GOVERNOR, I AM COMMITTED TO SEIZING EVERY OPPORTUNITY AHEAD OF US TO MAKE OUR STATE EVEN STRONGER THAN IT IS NOW. THE TAGLINE OF THE NEW LOGO IS, QUOTE, FREEDOM TO FLOURISH. GOVERNOR REYNOLDS SAYS SHE HOPES THAT SENDS A MESSAGE TO PEOPLE THAT THEY CAN REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL HERE IN THE HAWKEYE STATE. LIVE AT THE STATE HOUSE, OFELIA JACOBSON
