It's out with the old and in the new for the Iowa's brand. Gov. Kim Reynolds unveiled the state's new logo Tuesday during a press conference on the state government's restructuring model. Reynolds said she noticed that there were "numerous logos representing many different parts of state government, but really no unifying state brand that tied it all together." Soon, executive branch departments will adopt this new logo as their primary brand. Reynolds hopes this will send a signal that everyone is on the same team. The logo has the tagline, "Freedom to Flourish." Reynolds said the logo will send the message that Iowa is the state where people can reach their full potential."We conducted research that included Iowans and other neighboring states and beyond to ensure that the logo and the tagline would connect with people in the right way," Reynolds said. "And it did."The new branding comes at a time when Reynolds said, "Iowa's national profile is on the rise, our reputation is strong, and Americans have taken notice." The state has been working on a national marketing campaign to attract new visitors to the Hawkeye State over the past few years. The governor said this is something they've wanted to do since 2020. The new logo is already visible on state websites. People will also be able to see the logo on the 68 welcome signs located at the various entry points into Iowa in the coming months.
