The smoke was dense today with big concerns for air quality, especially the Eastern half of the state. So far this afternoon, not much has developed.

We will see a few more chances for storms in the coming days. A stray storm is possible tonight and into tomorrow morning. We’ll likely get a break and then see more redevelopment the second half of the day tomorrow. Some storms could be on the stronger side. Another round of storms are possible Friday night into Saturday again.
Timing is flex with these storms, depending on how much forcing we have. Aside from storm chances, we have hot and muggy air that will be sticking around through the weekend Temperatures fall into the mid 80s this weekend, and then we’re right back to the 90s by the first part of next week. Smoke should clear out by tomorrow, with lighter haze and better air quality for the state.
