Marengo company to pay thousands to Iowa OSHA for plant explosion

A Marengo company will pay thousands of dollars in fines for an explosion that hurt a dozen employees last year. Records show C6-Zero has agreed to pay Iowa OSHA $95,000 as part of an informal settlement.The company faces more than a dozen safety violations, including failure to have an emergency action plan and having non-working fire sprinklers.The settlement will be finalized Friday.C6-Zero also faces thousands of dollars in fines from the EPA over the clean-up of toxic materials from the site.
