Editorial: Take advantage of your access to presidential candidates in Iowa
This is *** editorial with the announcements this week from former Vice President Mike Pence North Dakota, Governor Doug Berg and Chris Christie. *** dozen Republicans are now running for president and like past presidential elections, the candidates are all coming to Iowa to make their case. The future of the caucuses may still be uncertain. But this year, Iowans will once again get to meet individuals who could end up leading our country. There are very few places in America where you get this kind of access all across our state at county fairs, taverns, pizza restaurants, and main streets. These candidates will be meeting with Iowans and asking for our votes and it's our opportunity to ask them for something. It's *** chance to ask them how they plan to help us, help our farms, help our businesses, help our families. It's our opportunity to share with them what we need in the next president, Iowa epitomizes retail politics, but only if we engage if we attend and if we speak up and so we encourage all voters to fully embrace this opportunity, share your experiences, ask your questions, we can show the country why Iowa matters and why candidates should come here every four years to make their case. The future of the Iowa caucuses is tenuous. Let's take advantage of the next few months. Our state and our nation is made better through voter engagement and there's no better opportunity than the Iowa caucus season. Welcomes responsible replies to this editorial.
