The CelebrAsian festival returns this weekend in downtown Des Moines.
This year is the event's 20th year and organizers have a lot planned for the milestone.
People can expect a lot of food and entertainment and a chance to learn more about the diversity within Asia. There are 15 villages for people to visit and learn more about each group's history and culture including Chinese, Filipino, Indonesian and Hmong.

"Des Moines has originally been one of the homes for a lot of ethnic minorities as well as refugees. Being able to showcase and share the cultural experiences and their backgrounds has been a wonderful opportunity," said Tina Thai, CelebrAsian 2023 festival chair.
May is also Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage month so the festival is an excellent way for more people to learn about Asian culture.
