If you're craving *** drink or two look no further calling to us with the glow of the neon light and enough variety to quench anyone's thirst is our next stop and nick is here to tell us all about it. Hello Marjorie is *** classic cocktail bar in the, in the older Moines Register building in downtown des Moines. We focus on our own creations, but also the classics from 100 years ago. And tell me who marjorie is. Hello, marjorie is named after my grandmother, Marjorie, Anderson and marjorie Anderson I knew was an old lady and she passed away when I was young, but my mom would tell me stories of how she was when she was younger and smoked *** pack of cigarettes *** day, sipped on sloe gin by the glass was *** party animal and in every sense of the word and then I wanted to bring that spirit back for her grandma, marjorie sounds like *** fun person to have around and I'm sure she'd love the vibe in here. Speaking of the enhanced cocktails, they have got all the spirits needed to mix up *** memorable drink, No spirit is left untouched. We use Moscow, we use tequila, we use bourbon, use rye, the marjorie has been with us since day one, it's had different variations. The current one is definitely the best it's ever been, it's *** really, really easy martini style cocktail. *** lot of our classic cocktails are based off of old recipes, but we have our spin on them. We pride ourselves in quality ingredients to every cocktail so that you always feel like you're drinking something fresh, fresh is best and I've heard that some fresh new things are going on here too. We just opened *** new bar behind Hello Marjorie called Good News darling. It's our little cocktail parlor. We focus on weird ingredient cocktails, that's the easiest way to put it. My favorite drink of good news darling is the party potato and I have it sitting with me right here. The goal of good news darling was to push, push things to the limit *** little bit. It is only 26 seats. We are only open three days *** week and so we felt like we could take more risks back here. High risks, high rewards judging by how busy it is in here. It seems like you know which risks to take, you feel welcome, you feel appreciated and I almost feel like with the couches and everything it's almost your grandma's living room but like *** really nice upscale version of, I think grandma marjorie would be happy you said. So hello ladies, do you come here often? I think we're doing all of our celebrations here. It's *** good vibe for everything right? It's like you can have *** low key night, you can have *** high key night, you start your nights here, I feel like and these four people just starting their night here looks far too happy. I need to know why we all have kids. So we're hanging out tonight. Ah That's why. But what do you think of? Hello Marjorie? The drinks are awesome. Music awesome. We love them. Yeah, very nice. Looks like hello Marjorie has nailed all the things on Nick's cocktail bar checklist. We've only just said hello, but now we must say goodbye.
