HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. JUST WITHIN THE LAST HOUR, IOWA TOURNEY GENERAL BRENNA BIRD FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST A MARENGO FACILITY. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SAYS THE EXPLOSION AT SEA SIX ZERO IN DECEMBER SENT CONTAMINATED RUNOFF INTO A STREAM THAT FEEDS THE IOWA RIVER. AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS ARE STILL IN THE AREA. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird has filed a lawsuit against a Marengo facility to force them to clean up the mess left behind by an explosion last month. The Attorney General says the blast at the C6-Zero in December sent contaminated runoff into a stream that feeds the Iowa River.“As Attorney General, I enforce our laws,” Attorney General Brenna Bird said in a statement. “Iowans expect responsible businesses to take reasonable steps to comply with their duties to remediate hazardous conditions after an incident like this.”The blast scene also still has hazardous materials at the site. The lawsuit asks the court to allow the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to enter the plant site and do what it must to protect public health.
