IT'LL TAKE PLACE AT 11 P-M ON WEDNESDAY. THE DES MOINES SKYLINE COULD SOON CHANGE. THE CITY COUNCIL JUST PASSED A PROPOSAL FOR A 33- STORY APARTMENT TOWER IN DOWNTOWN. THE COST IS ABOUT 1-HUNDRED-33-MILLION DOLLARS. THE BUILDING WILL REPLACE KALEIDOSCOPE AT THE HUB. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TORN DOWN YEARS AGO TO MAKE ROOM FOR AN APARTMENT TOWER, BUT THE PROJECT FAILED

The Des Moines City Council passed a proposal for a 33-story apartment tower in downtown on Monday night.The plan will cost about $133 million.The building will replace Kaleidoscope at the Hub at 5th Street and Walnut Street.It was supposed to be torn down years ago to make room for an apartment tower, but the project failed. If fundraising is successful, demolition could begin this spring.

The Des Moines City Council passed a proposal for a 33-story apartment tower in downtown on Monday night.
The plan will cost about $133 million.
